Shelter, Water & Appropriate Technology Initiatives Society (ShelterWater for short) is a non-profit society registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 of India.

Purpose:
The aims and objectives of this society reflect the need of the times in the developing world. As the name suggests, providing shelter and water to disadvantaged sections is the primary objective of the society. The society also aims to provide social commitment and support for local level projects of community development, community participation in the process of project execution and the use of health components and appropriate technology towards betterment of community life.

Activities:
The society aims at improvement in quality of life for the people in the developing world. Notable among the activities of the society are:

• Shelter construction / shelter upgradation
• Rural / urban water supply
• Rainwater harvesting and water conservation
• Watershed management
• Reproductive health, family welfare and enrichment of the environment
• Education and electronic connectivity
• Institution building in order to ensure sustainability
